in my Despatch No. 187 of the 31st. ultimo, I have the

honour to inform Your Lordship that the experiment of

appointing a headmistress, instead of a headmaster, to

take charge of Victoria School has not proved a success and

to request that a suitable officer may be selected and sent

out to fill this post under the title of Master in the

Education Department. The conditions of the appointment are

given in the attached paper of particulars.
